Cooperative Education Project

In order to fulfill our mission of helping people build Economic Democracy through worker cooperatives and community owned land, we have to set the groundwork for their future success. Our cooperative education and development project seeks to teach the concepts of economic democracy to community members through various engaging workshops, informational videos and creative digital content on social media. All, designed to get people to discuss economic democracy but also begin to practice it. The goal is to develop a community of supporters, future consumers of cooperative businesses and also energetic and courageous people who want to start cooperative businesses and projects. The workshops will focus on what it means to share ownership and why it is important to support worker owned businesses by teaching introductory democratic economic principles.

The project also has advanced trainings to help people develop worker cooperatives and democratic community owned enterprises that cover: Democratic Facilitation and Governance, Developing a business plan cooperatively, Cooperative Financing, Cooperative Legal incorporation and others.
